Week 7 | Peer Critique

I received peer feedback from Fashion Design student Samantha Coccetti, here are her suggestions:

  • Get rid of the image name when you hover over gallery images on the main landing page
  • Make this same gallery slideshow interactive... when you click on them link to the projects or hover over them and have context to what the project is
  • Make sure logo is completely visible on each page
  • Simplify the resume page... maybe take away a little bit of the content
  • Utilize bigger spacing between the headers and the bulleted content
  • Center all text
  • Use a Wix media file to link the PDF version of the full resume
  • Think about using a pre-made interactive grid offered through Wix already to organize images on the main "Portfolio" page

Week 6 | Industry Professional Critique Feedback

I received feedback from my mentor, Nancy Medwell.

Nancy was a professional portrait photographer for 30 years before retiring to help her husband grow his business. He is an Italian textile designer, who's kaleidoscopic, colorful designs are transferred onto the finest Italian silks and cashmeres. They are then sold as scarves and Nancy is responsible for marketing them and bringing them into retailers. I have had the privilege of working with Nancy and Carlo in the last several months as a marketing intern, and personal assistant to Nancy.

When I asked Nancy to help me better simplify my website for portfolio viewing, here is the suggestions that she gave me:

  • Think about removing all bulleted content on the Resumé page
  • Try adding pops of color to pull viewers in
  • Make the logo more playful... more catered to your personality!
  • Make the social media links more easily accessible
  • Use an image for the "about me" page that shows your face!

Week 6 | Peer Critique

I received feedback in class today from Graham.

Here are some of the main points that he suggested I look at:

  • Get rid of the "home" button and make the logo a link to the main page
  • Potentially move the three icons above the strip slideshow photos on the main page
  • Cropping some images/reducing the size

Overall his feedback was that my fonts were very complimentary to one another and that the styling of the site was simplistic and clean, which is what I was going for!
